Off to Willow Creek!
I'm off to the Willow Creek Leadership Summit tonight... (we're leaving tonight so that we don't have to drive through Chicago at rush hour in the morning.) I'm really excited... I'm going with a good friend and we're looking forward to some time away, in a different setting, just soaking things in. I've never been to Willow Creek (we're attending at the main campus rather than one of the satellites), so I'm sure that it will be an experience.
After Willow Creek's conference (Thurs, Fri, Sat), my family will be leaving for some vacation time for the last couple weeks of the month, starting Monday. Boy, am I ready for a vacation! We'll be visiting some friends in PA; then driving over to Washington DC for a couple days before hopping a plane (Jet Blue) and flying to CA for some time on the beach. It will be great (I hope!) So... things may be a tad bit quiet here at the blog compared to normal. I'll still try and check in with some interesting stuff here and there. I checked my "future blog items" folder last night and there are close to 90 different things in there I wanted to blog about... so little time. :)
I really wanted to go to the Multi-site conference at Willow today; but just wasn't able to take the extra day off. Oh well... I'll hit the next Multi-site later this year in Chicago.
Finally... did you read yesterday's post on "Am I a Sucker"? Oh my! Over 150 comments... I had no idea this would be such a hot topic. I didn't do an official tally... but it seemed to be pretty even: 50% sucker; 50% not a sucker (the article wasn't about me, by the way).
OK... I must be off... Check back in... I'll try and blog some from Willow on the conference if I can work it out!

I didn't know people in ministry got vacation time. Maybe that's something I should check in to...

Have a great time. Try not to let your jaw hit the floor too hard when you walk into the worship center. If it does, make sure you pick it back up quickly!
Our church is one of the satellite sites in Florida, so we'll be a part of the other 53,000+ people enjoying the conference!

Glad to hear you are going on vacation. My parents are smack dab in the middle of VBS and I think they're going nuts. I've been helping out some and I'm already tired. After helping them it makes me realize how lucky I am not heading any ministries right now. So cudos to you on your vacation. You most certainly deserve it. By the way, our family will be heading out to good old Canada for a week and a half starting at the end of the month so you for all of those bored with my comments you will be relieved that I won't have access to the internet where I'll be going. Actually that brings me to my question. In light of recent law changes(and I understand why) will we be able to comment on your postings while you are away? Or will that be shut down? If so no prob Bob. I was just curious. Anyway, have a great trip. I got nothin' but love for ya man!

Todd - I was at the Multi-site conference today and it was excellent. I think you will wish that you came to this one. There were a few more representatives there for some more approaches to multi-site/multi-venue than will be at the other conference coming up.
The range of viewpoints was well appreciated, especially some of the insight from David McDaniel from Northpoint Community/Buckhead Church.
