I've always heard debates about Calvin and his TULIP beliefs. Therefore, I wasn't too impressed with him. Then I read some of his "Institutes of the Christian Religion." I was amazed! The guy was brilliant. We need more preachers like him today. I hope more people read his writings, rather than just debate his caricature (and straw man image).

I loved the list - it was hilarious.
The church needs some good-natured poking once in a while. At least I do!

I'm still trying to figure out if I was pre-destined to read that list or if I chose to click the link.

Man you are nuts... I have had a long hard day and boy I sure did need a good laugh. I haven't laughed that hard since Sat. Night watching Larry the Cable Guy.... Keep up the good work.

OKAY, OKAY, I'll admit it, I'm an Arminianist. But according to the Calvinists...I didn't have any choice in the matter...right?

Hey Peter,
Don't rack your brain trying to figure it out Bro.! Just pick one! If you get it right...hey...you chose it man. If you get it wrong...well it isn't your fault you were predestined to it!

Is this some sort of systematic theology or something?

Jim,
I totally understand. Besides, most good Calvinists I know STILL encourage people to make a decision for Christ. And most Arminians I know STILL admit that God knew everything that was going to happen before the foundations of the world.

Anyone who believes Calvinists don't think sinners have no choice is simply showing his ignorance. You might wish to put "Burning Straw Dummies" in a search engine and compare the real issues with the straw men.

In the last post, please read "a choice" instead of "no choice".

Good point Randy!
I suppose it could be said all Protestants are in the faith movement or all baptists have a pit of snakes hidden somewhere to test "true" believers, just like all calvinists are "hyper-calvinists".
All Emergents preach a different gospel and all Postmodernists are liberals.

BeHim,
You forgot to add that all mega-church pastors are evil!
;-)

Hmmm like all Calvinists are hyperCalvinists?
If all Calvinists are hyper then yeah, I guess all mega-church pastors are evil.
;p
